Toronto Underground Market

I was lucky enough to obtain tickets to the sold out event, Toronto Underground Food Market, held at the very nice, Don Valley Brickworks. This event was packed with foodies willing to line up for incredibly delicious food. These vendors were hand selected and had to go through an application process to be chosen and not just put up the money for a stand (as with some food events). That fact in itself speaks to the quality of the event. There were many many people who were willing to wait up to 1.5 hours (case in point with stephanie and myself) for a single vendor stand.

I’ll let the pictures do the talking.

Diona Joyce - Hey Andrew! Thank you for sharing these beautiful pictures! And I see that you tried Balut :) Hope you had fun with it. Lol!
When you happen to be at the next TUM, desserts will be on house. Just let me know.

Adam - What I love most about this dish is the different texutres: the chewy bilo-bilo, the soft sweetened jackfruit, the sweetened saba bananas that are “makunat” (I still can’t find the best translation for this word, somehow its meaning gets lost in translation), and the soft and chewy tapioca pearls.
